Hard drive PCB includes 2 parts:
Hardware(components), Firmware(also called BIOS, data inside of the chip)
The firmware includes HDD’s unique configuration data. The hard drive needs this unique configuration data to work. So we have to move the unique configuration data from the original PCB (bad PCB) to the donor PCB, then donor board can work on the original HDD. We call this as HDD PCB firmware transfer.
PCB board firmware is the information data on the PCB board. Maybe in the memory chip(BIOS) or in the main chip on the PCB board.
