I learned the hard way, modular PSU cables are not interchangeable. Is it likely that only the PCB was damaged and the data in the disks is still okay? Also, what are the odds that the main IC on a donor PCB would be compatible if I did not swap it (doing that is beyond my capabilities)? This is for a Western Digital 500GB Black, PCB # 2060-771824-006 Revision A
If your HDD can’t spin, you can swap PCB to try.
Every PCB has the unique info in the BIOS/Main Controller IC. If you don’t change it, the HDD may not work.
