So no way of getting firmware off the bad board ?

When you get this PCB, you need to move your original PCB’s BIOS to the replacement PCB. The 8pins (4 pins on each sides) with 25P05VP、25P10VP、25F512、25F1024、25F1024AN、SST25VF512、SST25VF010, etc. are the BIOS.

I am not 100% familiar on this board only had 1 other fixed w. Board swap on a desktop drive w water damage.  But this small 2.5 I didn’t think or see a separate chip for bios.  Read up a lot.  That it has it on main chip and a back up on the platter that dr data , data recovery program needs to read. And re-wright to the new boards main ic chip.  Is this sounding right for my style board ??

U12 is the BIOS. Swapping PCB may be can’t reslove the water damage.
