Hi, I have a Samsung HD103UJ failed due to wrong voltage was applied. I am thinking maybe I can recover by swapping the PCB board.
The PCB model is BF41-00206B R00. The Bios chip reads STJ009 909J. Do you have a matching board?
https://www.hddzone.com/he103uj-samsung-pcb-bf4100206b-p-2796.html is your donor PCB.
The PCB’s BIOS is integrated into the Main Controller IC. You should exchange the Main Controller IC to let the HDD be recognized. Move the Main Controller IC(the biggest chip on the board) is a complex job which need you have certain technique. Some electronics repair shop can do it.
Which chip is the main controller IC? It is not the 8 pin chip in the pcb swap guide?
The biggest and squre one.
Thanks, I took a look and seems hard to swap it. What is the chance one can use the donor PCB w/o swapping? Is there possible to find a matching donor board that works without swapping anything?
In most cases, the Main Controller IC need to be changed.
You can find an electronics repair shop help you.
