Hi there,
I have a failed hdd not detected in PC,
I’m working on repair tried to change a PCB with different model number but this doesn’t work
If I order PCB with the same model number will I be able to fix it..?
Replacement the PCB will not solve the problem below.
* The drive will power up normally (no ticking noises, errors etc) but will not be recognized by the computer
* The drive will power up normally and be recognized correctly but will report a size of 0 bytes
* The drive will power up but report SMART errors on boot
Those problem is caused by the HDD firmware corrupted. You can find a data recovery company help.
Thanks for the response,
My HDD was not even spinning but after changing PCB it spinning and detected in PC but the problem it can not be initialized
Is that the issue of HDD firmware also..?
You can swap PCB to try.
When you get this PCB, you need to move your original PCB’s BIOS to the replacement PCB. The 8pins (4 pins on each sides) with 25P05VP、25P10VP、25F512、25F1024、25F1024AN、SST25VF512、SST25VF010, etc. are the BIOS.
