I’ve got a WD5000AAKS with a short circuited PCB. I see on your website that I could buy a replacement for the 2060-701537-003 REV A PCB. I understand that the bios chip needs to be swapped from the old PCB to the new. The chip on this particular PCB seems to be soldered on from the back (possibly BGA?), which does not seem to be a standard technique.
Could you advise me a company in the Netherlands that would be able to change these chips?
You can move the BIOS from your original PCB by using hot-air gun, then solder it on the replacement board. Please refer: https://www.hddzone.com/hard_drive_pcb_firmware_transfer.html Or you can find an electronics repair shop help you.
