Bought this drive about a year ago I’d say. All was fine until tonight, wife comes to me says she smells something…I go in and click….click….click….click ******* drive failed. I have an Antec 600+ watt power supply and it runs about 4 other drives so not an issue here.
No clue wtf to do now…I guess I’ll spend hours trying to find the same PCB board.

Seagate is a pile. I will no longer buy their drives after seeing all the complaints on the 7200 series. They are built cheap and with cheap engineering. Now what go back to Western Digital after I ditched them a few years ago due to their damn problems? Who knows…hard drives in general just suck these days…built cheaply. It’s not what it used to be. Companies want designs out the door (run and design) rather than build in quality and I guess this is what we have to deal with, their ignorance.
