my external seagate HD has died

my external seagate HD has died.  I am trying to attempt a few things to retrieve the valuable pictures I had saved on there without paying $$$$$ to send to data recovery if possible.  I am not tech savvy at all so I’m trying to learn and make sure I do this correctly.  I tried replacing the SATA bridge but that didn’t work so I’m now I’m going to try and replace the PCB.  I’m confused if my model has a firewall or not?  If it does I know you can point it out but I’m confused how I get it off and put it onto the new PCB.  I have yet to watch your video on it so maybe that will give me more info.  Thank you for any help that you can offer. I will email pictures of the front and back of my current PCB. Thank you so much.

What’s the problem with your HDD?

When I plug it into my laptop it doesn’t mount. I’ve looked through disk utility and it doesn’t show up there either. Tried a new USB and even had my husband take to work with no luck. Light comes on and sounds like it starts to spin but then it just clicks and clicks. I’m afraid to keep plugging it in but I believe it beeped a few times as well. I have 10000 pictures of when my kids were small so I’m really trying what I can before sending it off to a data recovery place. Know better, do better. I realize now I should have saved it elsewhere. My other thought would be the read/write head is just moving back ans fourth??? But I really don’t want to open it.

If your HDD has clicking noise, swapping PCB may not help.

Don’t open the HDD by yourself. You need to find a data recovery company help you.
