Fix to my WD 6.0 TB hard drive

I am looking for a fix to my WD 6.0 TB hard drive (WD60EFRX, REV P1 2060-800001-005) that seems to have problems with startup of the harddrive since it is producing a ‘fast ticking/rattling’ sound.

I am not “that” technical and one of my work colleagues suggested to buy a whole harddrive as a donor for my drive, but then I found HDDZone with just the compatible PCB (WD 2060-800001-005 PCB.

In the section “Please read before purchasing”, one statement says “In most cases, you should exchange the BIOS/Main Controller IC before you swap hard drive PCB, in order to make the replacement board compatible with your HDD.”

What does this mean and what is the handling to do this?

If it is “not to hard” to get the replacement done, I would love to purchase the PCB immediately here.

You can move the BIOS from your original PCB by using hot-air gun, then soldered it on the replacement board. Please refer: https://www.hddzone.com/hard_drive_pcb_firmware_transfer.html  Or you can find an electronics repair shop help you.
